$75,000 Matching Campaign for PMHS Sherman Medical Fund a Success!

Pope Memorial Humane Society (PMHS) is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its $75,000 matching campaign for the PMHS Sherman Medica Fund. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the generous support of Martine and Henk LaBrie, who kick-started the campaign with their extraordinary donation of $75,000. Pope Memorial Humane Society extends its heartfelt gratitude to the LaBrie’s for their philanthropic spirit and unwavering dedication to animal welfare.

“The entire Pope Memorial Humane Society team is immensely grateful to every individual and organization that contributed to the success of this campaign. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our supporters, we have achieved our ambitious goal of meeting the match and raising a total of $150,000. The outpouring of support demonstrates our community’s deep compassion and commitment to animal welfare.” Tracy Sala, Executive Director

The Sherman Medical Fund was created in 2020 so donors can give directly to the medical care of homeless pets in need. Hundreds of animals require medical attention every year at PMHS. In one day, 30+ cats recently headed to the veterinarian for spay/neuter appointments. Another 10-week-old kitten arrived at PMHS with a degloved tail requiring surgery to remove the tail, and a two-year-old Rottweiler/Chihuahua mix needed surgery to fix a cherry eye alleviating severe pain.

The $75,000 match campaign’s success is a testament to our community’s incredible support and commitment to homeless pets in need. Pope Memorial Humane Society extends its sincere gratitude to Martine and Henk LaBrie, whose exceptional generosity served as a catalyst for this campaign. Thank you all for your continued support. You have and continue to make a difference. Thank you!
