Sarah’s Story
Recently, Pope Memorial Humane Society took in four hound puppies. Three of the four were in ok condition, but the fourth was not.
When this girl arrived at Pope Memorial Humane Society, she was emaciated, dehydrated, and not breathing well. PMHS staff immediately brought her to the ER, where she stayed on oxygen, fluids, and antibiotics for two days. Her bloodwork showed she was in danger of organ failure, and she would not have lived much longer. She has been gaining ground each day. Eating and drinking well and will go in for a recheck of her blood work today. Hopefully, she will have no long-lasting effects. There doesn’t appear to be one leading cause for her illness, but the antibiotics and supportive care seem to be sorting it out.
This sweet gal’s medical bills are mounting, and she didn’t have a name until just a day or two ago! Since her story is sad, but she has a strong chance at a full recovery, she has been named Sarah. Queue the Sarah McLaughlin song. Any donations made through this post will go directly to her medical care. We’re all rooting for Sarah!
