Rowena’s Road to Recovery
Rowena came to Pope Memorial Humane Society after being found trapped in a rock pile. She sustained multiple wounds of unknown origin and was put on a state-mandated six-month rabies quarantine. Not even six weeks old, tiny Rowena had a nasty staff infection. One area would clear up, and the infection would break out in another spot. Without getting too graphic, dead skin had to be cut away – resulting in her permanent look of shock. To be honest, we were not sure if she would make it.
Rowena is not quite ready for adoption. She is still healing, and on her road to recovery, but at least her six-month quarantine is up! Rowena can now socialize with other cats, and her personality is starting to come out. She has some spicy qualities and is determined to run, play, and not be cuddled – yet. As Rowena grows, so do her medical bills. If you would like to help with Rowena’s expenses, a reminder that ALL donations made to Rowena’s care and the Sherman Medical Fund are matched 100% right now! Stay tuned for future updates on this tiny kitten with the heart of a champion!
