Sherman Medical Campaign Match Over Halfway thanks to You!
Earlier this year, two couples launched a matching campaign to help raise funds to give homeless cats, dogs and small critters needed medical care. The LaBries and Bonavias set a challenge for our community by matching every single donation that comes in for the Sherman Medical Fund, up to $50k.
Over $25k has since come in. When matched, this means $50k for surgeries, spays and infection treatments. It is at the halfway mark and this fund has already helped hundreds of animals, like Cranberry:
Cranberry is an adorable, goofy doggo who sustained a hip injury when she slipped on the ice. She was able to get surgery through the Sherman Medical Fund because of this amazing community. Without these funds, Cranberry’s future was uncertain. Who would adopt her knowing they immediately had to come up with over $1500?
The best news is that she came through the surgery well and has been adopted! Her adopter says:
“Cranberry is doing very well…She is getting around very well and moving fast on 3 legs than she ever did on 4…She is as always a cuddle bug and spends most of the day on the couch with us. I am very happy to have gotten her. She is so very perfect for our family.”
If you haven’t had a chance to help, your gift is still very needed (total cost of medical care for shelter animals is projected at $122k this year), and matching funds are waiting! Your gift is doubled and will only go to needed veterinary care and medical supplies.
