Amie Daniels’ new exhibition on display at Pope Memorial Humane Society

Pope Memorial Humane Society is thrilled to announce the newest exhibition of artwork is now being displayed on the Art Wall in the lobby of the shelter. The current show, featuring pieces by Amy Daniels, is on display and available for purchase, with 50% of the proceeds benefiting Pope Memorial Humane Society.

“I live in Rockland, Maine. I currently have a house cleaning business called Loon Dog Cleaning Services, LLC and I am attending herbalism school at Greenwood Herbals in Limerick, Maine. I am interested in creating deeper meaning in the subtleties of life. Art is a wonderful practice of meditation, focus, and curiosity. It allows the artist and viewer to contemplate on the meaning in their own perspective, without being told what to think. If one takes the time, it brings a sense of wondering and pondering about the piece, and can open your mind to new possibilities and ways of thinking. I enjoy giving meaning in the theme of consciousness and interconnectedness. I love learning about the human condition in terms of religion, philosophy, spirituality, culture, sociology, psychology, and anthropology. I have a background in the natural sciences, so I often try to connect our evolutionary biology to how we behave and adapt in the world around us. I love the phrase, “Orientation in the world in ultimate terms”, I often ask the question, “Why?”, and I aim to follow Don Miguel Ruiz’s 4 agreements: “Don’t take anything personally”, “Always do your best”, “Be impeccable with your word”, and “Don’t make assumptions.” I also love learning about other peoples’ perspectives and understanding of God.”

Pope Memorial Humane Society is currently open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. We encourage our community to visit the shelter and see Amy’s artwork and all the adoptable animals. If you are interested in exhibiting your work on the PMHS Art Wall, please email art@popehumane.org.
