Day 19: Thank You to All of the Animal Control Officers!

Day 19 of 30 days of thanks and giving at Pope Memorial Humane Society brings us to a group of people that do not get enough appreciation. Our local animal control officers are the people called when a stray animal is wandering down the road, when someone’s pet is lost, when there is a concern about animal abuse. ACO’s are often called in the middle of the night. They are pulled in twenty directions at once and continuously on their feet. They make sure dogs are registered and up to date on their rabies vaccinations. They want nothing but the best for animals, and we appreciate all they do.

We wish we had a photo of all of our local ACO’s, but we don’t. So if you see Bill, Kendra, Heidi, Ralph, Bruce, Alan, Arnold, or James, thank them for all they do. They are an integral part of our community and make a difference in local homeless animals’ lives every day. Thank you!
