Donut Needs Your Support
At only six months old, Donut already has a story! Donut was found after being hit by a car. He was brought to the ER, where the emergency veterinarians discovered he had a degloved tail, a broken femur on his back left leg, and a fractured pelvis on the right side. He also had a wound under his tail full of maggots. The ER contacted Pope Memorial Humane Society to see if we could help as he is only six months old and super friendly.
Our local veterinarians are crazy busy. Fortunately, Dr. Yovino didn’t hesitate when we asked if he could help Donut. Dr. Yovino had Donut brought down to Harbor Road. The next day Donut had a tail amputation and pins put in to save his left leg. Not knowing how the pelvis would heal, we didn’t want to amputate his left leg. Donut has a long road of healing ahead, including many vet visits for rechecks and X-rays to make sure the leg is mending correctly. We are hopeful his pelvis will heal and not require surgery in the future.
Donut’s medical bills are mounting, and he will be on crate rest for many more weeks. If you would like to donate to Donut’s care, you can by clicking the button below. Thank you for your support!
