Lost, Found and Looking: Tasting Event and Cookbook Release party
Looking for a confident cat? Meet Ollie. He’s my pet pick of the week. You can find him, and all his swagger, making the rounds in the shelter lobby, sauntering in and out of all the offices as if he owns the place. Ollie is a big “help” at the front desk. No paper has ever blown off the desk on his watch. He has no problem letting you know when he wants attention and when he doesn’t. His commanding presence is only slightly diminished when he opens his mouth to talk, which he does a lot, as a high pitched squeak comes out. If you are up for a fun adventure with a lovable, endearing, and sometimes mercurial feline, then Ollie might be just the one for you. To learn more about this big, handsome orange tiger, call the shelter at 594-2200 or visit the adoptable cats’ section of the PMHS website.
You don’t want to miss our Tasting Event and Cookbook Release party at PMHS on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 1-3 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available for this delicious event that highlights recipes from PMHS’s new cookbook, “Recipes to the Rescue.” Tickets are $10 each, and give you the opportunity to taste up to 15 different dishes, as well as be the first community members to purchase “Recipes to the Rescue.” Plus, local celebrity Kevin the pug from Loyal Biscuit will be there with his very own “In the Kitchen with Kevin” station. For more information head to www.popehumane.org. The chefs are busy practicing their recipes for the Tasting Event and Cookbook Launch on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Speaking of food, if you or someone you know is struggling to feed a pet, we are here to help. We offer temporary assistance to help individuals and families in need feed their pets. Feel free to call the shelter at 594-2200 and let us know what pet food needs you have, and we’ll help however we can.
Wish list: Bleach, paper towels, angle brooms, canned cat food (poultry pate preferred by our finickiest felines), and scrubby sponges. Thank you.
