Navigating Pet Loss: A Free Grief Support Group
Losing a beloved pet can be an incredibly difficult and emotionally taxing experience. For many pet owners, their furry, feathered, or scaly companions are not just animals but cherished family members, making their passing akin to losing a close friend or family member. If you find yourself grappling with the profound grief and sense of loss that often accompanies the passing of a pet, you are not alone.
Please join us on October 27th at noon for a supportive virtual gathering designed specifically for individuals navigating the complex emotions of pet loss. Led by Patricia Lee Rode, MA, Certified Pet Loss & Bereavement Counselor, and Grief Educator, this free support group offers a safe space for sharing, healing, and finding solace amidst the pain.
During the session, participants will have the opportunity to:
• Share their stories: Whether you’re mourning the loss of a loyal canine companion, a cherished feline friend, a beloved bird, or any other beloved pet, everyone’s grief journey is unique. This support group provides a non-judgmental environment where attendees can openly express their feelings, memories, and experiences without fear of criticism or misunderstanding.
• Receive empathy and understanding: One of the most challenging aspects of grieving a pet is the lack of understanding from those who have never formed such deep bonds with animals. In this support group, participants will find validation and empathy from others who truly comprehend the depth of their sorrow and the significance of their loss.
• Learn coping strategies: Patricia Lee Rode brings years of experience and expertise to the support group, offering practical guidance and coping strategies to help attendees navigate the grieving process. From self-care practices to memorializing rituals, participants will gain valuable insights and tools to cope with their grief and honor the memory of their beloved pets.
This virtual support group will be conducted via Zoom, allowing people from all over to join a supportive online community. To RSVP or request more information, please contact Patricia at patricialeerodeone@gmail.com or leave a message at 207-594-2200.
Finding understanding, compassion, and support can make a significant difference in the healing journey amidst the pain of pet loss. Join us on October 27th as we honor the bond between humans and animals and navigate the path toward healing and hope.
