Pope Memorial Humane Society is thrilled to announce the newest exhibition of artwork is now being displayed on the Art Wall in the lobby of the shelter. The current show, featuring pieces by Christine Covert, is on display and available for purchase through August 15th, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Pope Memorial Humane Society.
Christine Covert- ARTIST STATEMENT
“My collage works arise from the interaction between the papers before me and my scissors or tearing of unplanned shapes. Arranging and rearranging the pieces, which come from magazines or folders of my own decorated papers, continues until my satisfaction is achieved. Contrast and composition are important, whether the colors and shapes are bold or subtle, and the titles may come from words that appear on the finished piece. Unlike some other means of creating, I find collage to be a peaceful and stress free process.”
Pope Memorial Humane Society is currently open Monday through Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm. We encourage our community to visit the shelter and see both Christine’s artwork and adoptable animals. If you are interested in exhibiting your work on the PMHS Art Wall, please email art@popehumane.org.
