Noreen Eagleston- ARTIST STATEMENT
“I started drawing and painting at a very young age and have always been drawn to the beauty of nature. I attended art school in Boston and have studied under numerous New England artists. I am influenced by the work of Cezanne, Ollie LeBrec, Robert Bateman, Rembrandt and others. I paint in studio and Plein air (painting outside) and feel fortunate to live on the mid-coast of Maine where beautiful scenery is at my fingertips.
I feel honored to have the opportunity to display my work and thank all who support me. I appreciate your interest in me and my work.”
Cher Jones- ARTIST STATEMENT
“I’ve always enjoyed painting large surfaces, and was able to create a business, and found many jobs in the Belfast and Camden areas. I’ve painted in homes, commercial businesses, including antique shops, from the late 1970’s through the 1990’s. I found outlets for most of my painted furniture, and was able to provide faux finishes to many. I also taught painting techniques to adults at the Belfast Area High School.
I started to sketch with a small group of artists in the early 2000’s; and as I’ve aged, have found much enjoyment in a smaller scale.
I currently am showing some of these sketches at the Atlantic Motor Company, in Wiscasset, and am grateful for this opportunity at the Pope Memorial Humane Society.”
Pope Memorial Humane Society is currently open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We encourage our community to visit the shelter and see Noreen and Cher’s artwork and all the adoptable animals.
