PMHS Introduces New Foster Coordinator
Pope Memorial Humane Society is thrilled to welcome our new Foster Coordinator, Sally Perkins. Sally’s previous experience includes over 8 years at the Island Institute and working at Maine Sport as the Assistant Director of the Outdoor School. She has been a sea kayak guide, a white-water rafting guide, picked potatoes, raked blueberries, and enjoyed all that Maine has to offer.
Sally grew up on a farm in Aroostook County and always loved animals. She currently has two cats, Little Man and Luna. Sally always thought that she would like to foster after she retired. Then the world changed, and Sally found herself at home for an extended period. She applied to be a foster home for PMHS Society and immediately fell in love with fostering cats and kittens. When the Foster Coordinator position opened at PMHS, Sally quickly applied, and it wasn’t long before she was offered the position.
Sally is a welcome addition to the PMHS team. Her passion for animals and kind heart are already making a difference at the shelter. If you are interested in fostering and would like to talk to Sally about the process, give the shelter a call at 207-594-2200 or visit the foster section of the PMHS website.
